Sixty five years ago, Staff Sgt. Luther J. Phillips returned home from World Ward II after three years of heroic action in Italy.

Phillips, 86, who now lives in Centerville, was a member of the 34th Army Infantry Division, known proudly as the 'Red Bulls' during what was called the Italian campaign.
