The shoes you wear should be comfortable, yet provide sufficient arch and ankle support and stability. This is especially true when exercising.

Running or walking shoes must fit properly in order to avoid injury and foot problems. Blisters may form with loose-fitting shoes, while problems such as tingling, numbness and damage to toenails can occur with shoes that are too tight. Corns, calluses, ingrown toenails and bunions are other common foot problems.
