When he was 4 years old, Milt Kantor moved to Dayton from Chicago with his parents, grocers who opened a small store at Third and Williams, just below the Wright Brothers' lab.

"My dad used to say, 'That thing will never fly,' " Kantor jokes. Of course, the airplane had been invented years before. The lab was to make improvements.
