Summary


This weekend, Charles "Chuck" William Whalen Jr., who has a long and distinguished political and public service career, will celebrate his 90th birthday. Whalen Jr., a Republican, served in the state Senate until he ran for U.S. Congress in 1966. He won the seat as a U.S. Representative for Ohio's Third District three times, running unopposed once.

He retired in 1979 and was succeeded by Democrat Tony P. Hall.
