WASHINGTON-- Sen. George Voinovich said Tuesday he will vote against legislation that would mandate a withdrawal of most U.S. troops from Iraq by April 30, 2008.

Voinovich, R-Ohio, who sent a letter to President Bush in late June urging a withdrawal of U.S. troops from the region, will vote against that bill because he deemed the withdrawal "too precipitous," according to Voinovich spokesman Chris Paulitz. The legislation, which could come to a vote today, would require President Bush to begin reducing U.S. forces in Iraq within 120 days.
