DAYTON -- The Montgomery County Veterans Service Center needs to do a better job reaching out to local veterans and should make administrative and financial changes to become more efficient and accountable, according to a performance audit released this week.

The review of center operations was done by Ohio Auditor Betty Montgomery at the request of the county commissioners and the service center's commissioners. It came after several years of turmoil and controversy at the center.
