Uts to Make History with Inauguration of Woman As President ; Wendy J. Deichman Edwards Will Be the School's Eighth President.

The Board of Trustees of United Theological Seminary will inaugurate Wendy J. Deichman Edwards as the eighth president of the school. She succeeds Ed Zeiders, who left last year after seven years at the seminary. The inauguration will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Edwards is no stranger to UTS. She previously served as acting president, academic dean and vice president for academic affairs. But when she was chosen to lead school on Feb. 25, she became the first woman to serve as president of a free-standing United Methodist seminary in the United States.
