Tv Icon 'Uncle Al' has Died

Summary


Al Lewis, who generations of children knew on TV as the accordion playing "Uncle Al" and host of the nation's longest running children's show, died Saturday morning. He was 84.

WCPO-TV, the Cincinnati station that aired "The Uncle Al Show" from 1950 to 1985, confirmed his death. Managing Editor Jana Soete said the family did not release any information on the location or cause of death, except to say that it was "peaceful."
