Trotwood, Police Union Brace for Deadline

TROTWOOD -- As the city of Trotwood attempts to close a $640,000 budget deficit by March 31, the council learned last week that two of its unions, the firefighters and public works, have agreed to wage freeze concessions to help meet its deadline.

Now, the city is faced with negotiating with its 26-member police union, whose budget accounts for more than half of the Trotwood's $9.2 million operating budget.
