After Democrat Barack Obama snatched Ohio's 20 electoral votes, nothing could stop his historic march to the White House as the nation's first black president on Tuesday, Nov. 4. No Republican has been elected president without carrying Ohio and John McCain didn't break that pattern.

"I think that our duty now is to congratulate the president- elect," Ohio GOP Chairman Bob Bennett said even before McCain conceded at 11:15 p.m.
