KETTERING -- Springboro won its first Greater Western Ohio Conference Middle School wrestling title with nine placers and three individual champions. But nobody stepped up bigger for the Panthers than 104-pounder Mitch Case, who survived the tournament's toughest weight class.

The seventh-grader avenged regular-season losses with two upset wins, including a 13-10 decision over previously unbeaten Brendon Watson of Centerville in the final. The other key win came in the semifinals over Jordan Branham of Miamisburg.
