When I got out of college, I spent a fall covering high school football in Dallas. This provided plenty of interesting memories, from the player who had his named spelled out in his four top gold teeth to the team that was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after fighting in the huddle.
But what I liked most about the experience was the playoff system. The state of Texas was divided into divisions and districts, with eight or so teams in a district. The top two teams in the district made the playoffs.See the full content of this document
