The blistering heat wave that has blanketed two-thirds of the country continued to crawl east Thursday, bringing the warmest temperatures the Dayton area has seen in four years.

Extreme temperatures and humidity produced heat-index values as high as 110 degrees across the region Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The area remains under an excessive heat warning until 9 tonight.
