WEST CHESTER TWP. -- Within minutes of the time that friends of Lakota East junior Jordan Day frantically relayed information about him to a West Chester police dispatcher, an Ohio Highway Patrol deputy was clocking a white Lexus near Union Centre Boulevard.

The friends had called 911 to report that Day might be trying to harm himself. By the time the police report of the missing 16-year- old was filed about 1 a.m. on Aug. 12, Day was already dead. His car had reached speeds in excess of 130 mph before it crashed into a wall, smacked a tractor-trailer and ejected him.
