Q. I'm a teenager between the ages of 10 and 15. My problem is that I can't wait to make out with a girl, but what stops me is that I am scared to tell my parents. Please help me, and tell me if I am too young to do so.
A. Wanting to "make out" with a girl is a normal feeling for a young teen. There is no magic age at which dating becomes appropriate. A lot depends upon your emotional development, the relationship you have with the girl and what you mean by "dating." However, dating before you are a teenager (that is, 13) is generally not a good idea. You are going through many physical, hormonal and psychological changes at this time in your life. There are many strong sexual feelings you will experience as your body develops. What you need more than anything else is to talk with a trusted adult. Hopefully, this can be your parents.
