SUGARCREEK TWP., Greene County -- Sugarcreek Twp. police Sgt. Brian Deckard told the Sugarcreek Twp. trustees last week that the township will be participating in Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer's new S.T.O.P.P.E.D. (Sheriffs Telling Our Parents & Promoting Educated Drivers) parent notification program to reduce accidents among young drivers.

Parents can voluntarily register their vehicles for free with the Greene County Sheriff's Office, allowing any Greene County law enforcement officer, when stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation, to notify the parents with the reason for the stop if the vehicle is driven by someone younger than 21.
