MIDDLETOWN -- Leaders of the nation's largest independent steel workers' union, locked out by AK Steel for nearly five months, voted Thursday to affiliate with the International Association of Machinists (IAM).
Leaders of the Armco Employees Independent Federation had urged members to choose the Machinists rather than the United Steelworkers, saying it would give them leverage in contract talks at the company's Middletown Works.See the full content of this document
