Springfield Lawyer Says He Wants Hobson's Seat

Clark County Republican Party Chairman Dan Harkins announced Thursday that he will run for Congress in the 7th District.

The 47-year-old Springfield lawyer, who has served as county chairman for 12 years, hopes to replace U.S. Rep. David Hobson, R- Springfield, who is retiring after this term. So far, one other Republican, state Sen. Steve Austria of Beavercreek, has entered the race and garnered Hobson's support. Former state Rep. Ron Hood, RAshville, also has been mentioned as considering a run.
