Re gays in the military: When we are fighting two wars, it is senseless to get rid of Arabic interpreters and experienced staff. My son says sexual orientation didn't matter to the soldiers when he was in Kuwait.
Not allowing gays/ lesbians in the military is an old tradition, much like the Navy's tradition of not allowing women on its ships. Women have successfully served on ships for more than 20 years and even fly Navy jets. Lt. Col. Fehrenbach, a highly decorated Air Force officer, has proven himself time and again.
