The Ohio Department of Health withdrew its efforts to revoke the license of the Dayton area's only remaining abortion clinic after reaching an agreement with the facility to ensure that patients suffering from surgical complications can be promptly admitted to a hospital.

Health Director Dr. Alvin D. Jackson granted a variance to the Women's Medical Center of Dayton after the clinic named three physicians with admitting privileges at Miami Valley Hospital who have agreed to admit patients dealing with complications, department spokesman Jay Carey said.
