DAYTON -- In an unusual coincidence, two former Dayton area residents living in different south suburbs were slain in the past few weeks and both crimes remain unsolved.

On Oct. 25 or 26, police said someone stabbed former Kettering resident Jane Ellen Pepper, 44, in her Indianapolis apartment. On Nov. 2, former Oakwood resident Justin Miller, 25, was shot in the parking lot of a Columbus store he was responsible for as a district manager.
