COLUMBUS -- Montgomery County has two candidates among the eight vying to lead the Ohio Democratic Party -- Montgomery County Democratic Chairman Dennis Lieberman and Jane Mitakides of Washington Twp., who ran and lost a congressional race against U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, R-Centerville, in 2004.

Mitakides notified acting Ohio Democratic Chairwoman Rhine McLin, the Dayton mayor, by Monday of her interest, but Mitakides' name was not provided to the party's communications department until Tuesday, and was left off an initial list of candidates.
