Paul Schaeffer, so proud of his vehicles' fuel efficiency, gets a kick out of hearing friends complain about high gas prices.

Schaeffer, a retiree from Eaton who works part-time at Wright- Patterson Air Force Base, drives 70 miles round-trip to work, or about 250 miles a week, in either one of his two Toyota Priuses. He has a 2001 model with 65,000 miles on it and a 2005 Prius he bought the day before Thanksgiving.
