The Ohio Supreme Court rejected a constitutional challenge Monday to the 5.5 percent sales tax charged to satellite television customers.

The lawsuit, filed by DIRECTV Inc. and Echo-star Satellite against the tax commissioner of Ohio, argued that the tax violated the commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution by excluding cable companies.
