Since becoming Penn State University's head football coach on Feb. 19, 1966 (after 16 years as an assistant in State College), Joe Paterno has collected 348 wins in 467 games. But from 2000-04, the Nittany Lions went just 26-33 with four losing seasons, which caused some to question whether Paterno should retire.

Now in his 40th season, Paterno has led Penn State to a 5-0 start to surprise the college football world. The No. 16 Nittany Lions will host No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday in one of the biggest games Penn State has seen in the past decade.
