HAMILTON -- Ann Hoffman, publisher of Cox Ohio's Southwest Group of newspapers, has been named publisher of The Daily Advance in Elizabeth City. The paper is one of three Cox-owned dailies in North Carolina.

Hoffman, 57, has been with Cox Ohio for 13 years, starting at the Dayton Daily News, where she served as deputy managing editor. In 2002, she was named publisher of the Cox Ohio's Southwest Group of weekly papers and led them to multiple awards for excellence. In May 2005, Hoffman assumed additional responsibility and became publisher of the JournalNews and The Middletown Journal.
