NEW LEBANON -- It's all in the numbers, they say, and for sixth- grade students in the New Lebanon Local School District, the numbers look good.

Ed Mathes, curriculum supervisor for the district, said preliminary results from the most recent Ohio Department of Education's proficiency tests produced numbers that showed great improvement.
