DAYTON -- A local peace organization on Sunday awarded its first Dayton Literary Peace Prizes to a British filmmaker-turned-writer and a New York-based international author. Stephen Walker and Francine Prose were honored during the black-tie event at the Schuster Center, while Studs Terkel, America's preeminent oral historian, received the Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Lifetime Achievement.

The literary peace prize is a project of the international peace initiative Dayton: A Peace Process.
