WASHINGTON -- In the money race for the U.S. Senate seat held by the retiring George Voinovich, Republican Rob Portman still leads by a landslide.

Portman raised $1.7 million in the second quarter ending June 30, nearly doubling his closest rival in cash, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher, according to campaign finance reports released Wednesday, July 15.
