DAYTON -- Lynsay Strahorn was dejected after her Chaminade Julienne High School girls' basketball team lost a close game Friday night, March 12, to rival Alter. Then she went to Columbus and won a statewide poetry-reciting contest Saturday, entitling her to compete in a national poetry event in Washington, D.C., in late April.

"It's been quite a weekend, it's been a roller-coaster," Strahorn, 17, a junior at CJ, said Sunday.
