Summary
Social Security was founded at a time when 90 percent of the elderly in this country lived in poverty. It has been an extremely successful program, so much so that most people today can't imagine what it was like before.
We may find out if the Republicans have their way. Clearly their plan is to dismantle Social Security and remove the safety net for the elderly, while giving pork and more pork to the investment industry. If they succeed, it won't affect me; my pension is secure. But it will affect many not as fortunate as I and it will affect my children.See the full content of this document
