PIQUA -- A combination of factors made a tax increment financing district seem more like tax increment futility, so the city of Piqua is moving to cancel the plan.

The City Commission voted to cancel the TIF -- intended to help finance road improvements along U.S. 36 near the future Wal-Mart -- in the first reading of the ordinance at the June 20 meeting.
