TIPP CITY -- Ed Jackson's support of the McCain-Palin ticket brought him a surprise letter of thanks from the Republican GOP vice presidential candidate following her Oct. 23 rally at Troy's Hobart Arena.

Jackson, 84, was pleased with Palin's selection as McCain's running mate. He was disappointed he could not attend the rally because of recent surgeries, but wanted to show his support.
