BEIJING -- Maurice Wignall says he's on center stage in Beijing thanks to that lonely stage he spent so much time on at Centerville High School. That's where the world-class hurdler -- who lives in Washington Twp. and runs for Jamaica -- made his initial preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games, where today, Aug. 21, he runs in the final of the 110-meter hurdles.
He said he was turned down by the University of Dayton to use its training facilities and knew of few other places with a track, so he showed up at Centerville High, which isn't far from the home he shares with his wife, Janelle, the Wright State assistant swim coach and a two-time Olympian herself, and their 1-year-old son.See the full content of this document
