The Oak Ridge Boys ; Travel Tiring, but Country Veterans 'Still Excited' About Music

Summary

The Oak Ridge Boys are one of the most versatile and enduring acts of the modern country era. Singers Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban started as a gospel quartet in the early 1960s, but have gone on to record and perform everything from bluegrass to classic Christmas carols. Along the way the group has scored numerous hits on the country and pop charts and received myriad music industry awards. "We've been very fortunate to experience longevity in this business, there's no question about that," Sterban said from his home in Hendersonville, Tenn. "The best thing is we're not done yet, either. We're still recording new music. We still have a very ambitious schedule booked and we're still excited about what we're doing even after all these years."

The Oak Ridge Boys are touring in support of a new album, Front Row Seats, which many critics are calling a return to form. The group performs at the Schuster Center tonight at 8 p.m.
