BEREA -- Critics clamoring for more imagination from the Browns offense have been ready to throw Cleveland offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon to the curb since last season. In Sunday's 22-12 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Carthon did try something different, but it blew up in his face.
Early in the third quarter, trailing 17-3, the Browns were at Carolina's 21-yard line with inches to go for a first down when a halfback option pass snuck out of the playbook.
