DAYTON -- NCR Corp. said Wednesday it will no longer make contributions to pension plans of U.S. employees after Dec. 31, in an effort to reduce its annual net retirement expense by $40 million starting in 2007.

The action by NCR's board of directors expands a change begun in 2004 that applied to younger and newly hired employees.
