CHICAGO -- Cincinnati Reds manager Jerry Narron recognizes the significance of Jackie Robinson and, at the same time, he wonders if people give enough credit to Branch Rickey, the man who signed Robinson and put him in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform in 1947.

Narron's uncle, Sam Narron, was a catcher for Rickey with the St. Louis Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers, and Jerry heard the stories.
