Midpoint Music Fest ; Event Continues Through Saturday in Cincinnati

Summary

More live music than any one person could ever hope to digest in a threeday period -- that's what's on tap at the sixth annual Midpoint Music Fest. The multiband event kicked off last night in Cincinnati and continues tonight and Saturday in venues throughout the city. This year's festival features headliner Superdrag along with regional bands such as Cari Clara, Southeast Engine and Kevin Elliot and the Broken. Participating Dayton acts such as Luxury Pushers, Ruetschle, Jayne Sachs and Oxymoronatron, like the other MPMF performers, were selected from more than 1,000 submissions.

"As a performer, it offers me the opportunity to build more of a following with people who may not know who I am and others who may have heard my tracks, but haven't seen me in person," said Derek Holly of Dress Code, a local electronic act that has performed at Midpoint every year since founders Bill Donabedian and Sean Rhiney started the festival in 2002. Dress Code performed last night at Ocho Rio.
