TROY -- Miami County's first mental health court will convene March 9 with goals of improving treatment of the mentally ill in the criminal justice system, and reducing their numbers in the county jail.

Municipal Court Judge Elizabeth Gutmann will preside over the special court docket that initially will cover up to five people individually selected for a program fashioned after the drug court concept.
