DAYTON -- Tort reforms in Ohio have sharply reduced the cost of medical malpractice insurance for physicians, according to the Ohio State Medical Association, which hosted a forum for physicians and legislators Thursday night to discuss health care in the state.

The legislation that began in 2002 included caps on awards for pain and suffering and a statute of limitations on lawsuits.
