DAYTON -- The Rev. Richard Knuge, S.M., a former University of Dayton priest and Miami Valley Hospital chaplain, died Saturday. He was 79. Rev. Knuge graduated from Chaminade High School in 1943 and earned a bachelor's degree in education from UD in 1947. Six years after his ordination in 1956, Rev. Knuge received a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Xavier University.

Rev. Knuge worked for nearly 30 years in secondary education, at Hamilton (Ohio) Catholic High School and Purcell and Moeller high schools in Cincinnati.
