DAYTON -- A 64-year-old ex-Marine partially convinced a Montgomery County jury Friday that he accidentally put a bullet in the back of Ellen Dansby's head as she sat in her car outside a Jefferson Twp. bar.

The panel convicted Edward Lee "Easy" Smith of reckless homicide instead of murder. Smith faces four to eight years in prison instead of the minimum 18 years for murder in killing Dansby, 53, on July 31.
