LEBANON -- On the eve of a fundraiser for the family of a Warren County sheriff's deputy killed in the line of duty, a trial date was set Friday for the Middletown man accused of causing the deputy's death.

An Oct. 17 trial date was set in county Common Pleas Court for Marcus Isreal, 22, who has been indicted on murder and eight other felonies in the death of Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Dulle.
