Summary
In a letter to the editor, "Voters chose moral values," Nov. 14, there was a line that left me dumbstruck. The letter writer made this chilling statement: "Well, that is how an election works. The side that gets the most votes gets to decide how things will be."
No, that's not how things work in the United States, at least not yet. Here in the United States, we have two things -- the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment -- which prevent the majority from running roughshod over the rights of the minority.See the full content of this document
