Kettering resident Frank Staley helped keep a historical tradition alive when he placed third in the Ohio Cornhuskers Association hand-husking contest.

Competing in the men's 75 and over age group in the contest held in Fletcher Oct. 13, Staley has competed in 41 corn husking competitions since his first one at Carriage Hill Farm in 1965.
