Summary

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Unable to crack an unbending defense, the University of Dayton men's basketball team ended up relying heavily on 3-pointers in an effort to stay with 19th-ranked New Mexico in the infamous Pit on Friday, Jan. 1. Clink, clank, clunk. The Flyers made just four of their first 26 3s -- finishing 8-for-33 -- while dropping a 68-66 decision to the Lobos to end an eight-game winning streak. Chris Johnson had 21 points and made 5-of-10 tries from behind the arc, but Rob Lowery finished 0-for-10, Paul Williams 1- for-6 and Mickey Perry 1-for-4.

Even Johnson didn't warm up until it was too late, making five in the final two minutes, including one at the buzzer.
