Summary


On Saturday, Jean Urschel will retire as head of circulation at the Germantown Public Library. She has held posts at the library since becoming a page during her junior year at Germantown High School in 1962.

That job -- which was designed for a two-year stint and for which she received no pay for three months -- gave her the start she needed. She completed that job and passed it along to another high school student. In the meantime, she got married and had a child.
