VANDALIA -- Vandalia-Butler City Schools will likely ask voters in May to renew a five-year emergency levy, and next year the district may return to the ballot in search of new revenue.

The renewal levy, which generates $4.4 million and was first approved in 1996, is expected to be about 6.5 mills and cost the owner of a $100,00 home about $200 annually, school officials said.
