By all accounts, Harold O'Connell had just finished the race of his life.

He had set a goal of finishing in less than 90 minutes in last Saturday's Tad-mor 10K at the Taylorsville MetroPark. It was 6.2 miles through some of the most idyllic paths and wilderness that the Miami Valley can offer. That was an ideal setting for a dedicated civil servant who worked the last 23 years for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
